Suit Sizes Explained: How to Measure Yourself the Right Way
"Between sizes? Not sure what 'Chest 48' means for you? This guide takes the guesswork out of online shopping — for good."
Shopping online should feel as easy as trying on in-store — and it can be, once you know how to measure yourself correctly. All you need is a soft measuring tape and two minutes. Let's walk through it step by step.
Chest
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it parallel to the floor. Breathe normally — don't hold your breath or pull the tape tight.
Shoulder
Measure across the back, from the edge of one shoulder bone to the other. Stand relaxed — hunched shoulders give a false reading.
Waist
Measure around your natural waistline — the narrowest part, usually just above the belly button. Keep one finger between the tape and your body for the right fit.
Hips
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, feet together. Check in a mirror to make sure the tape is level all the way around.
Arm
Measure from the top of your shoulder down to your wrist, with your arm slightly bent. This ensures the sleeve length sits exactly where it should.
